About Jon Vlassopulos:
Jonathan Vlassopulos is a senior media, entertainment, and technology executive with over two decades of experience building, scaling, and transforming global consumer platforms across music, gaming, television, mobile, and immersive media.
Most recently, Jon served as Chief Executive Officer of Napster, where he led a successful strategic turnaround of the iconic music streaming service. Under his leadership, Napster was repositioned as a next-generation platform focused on deepening artist–fan relationships through social, experiential, and creator-centric innovation. During his tenure, the company launched multiple industry firsts, including the first metaverse experience for an artist on a major digital service provider (DSP) and the first AI-powered playlist generator within a streaming service. In 2025, Napster was acquired by Infinite Reality for USD $207 million, delivering a 10x return to shareholders.
Prior to Napster, Jon was Vice President and Global Head of Music at Roblox, where he founded and scaled the company’s global music, media, and brand partnerships business. He produced a series of record-breaking virtual concerts and immersive experiences with artists such as Lil Nas X, twenty-one pilots, Charli XCX, and Zara Larsson, as well as global brands including Samsung, Mastercard, and Logitech. The Lil Nas X concert reached more than 40 million fans worldwide, becoming one of the most successful virtual music events ever staged. Collectively, these initiatives generated over USD $100 million in new revenue for the music industry and helped establish Roblox as a pioneer in virtual entertainment and live digital experiences.
Earlier in his career, Jon held senior leadership roles at AT&T Wireless, where he launched the first mobile music service in the United States, built and scaled a portfolio of more than 100 mobile applications for major global brands, and managed a multibillion-dollar mobile content business. He later joined Endemol, serving as both an executive and board member, where he developed and commercialized interactive television formats including Deal or No Deal Lucky Case, 1 vs. 100, and Take the Cake, driving tens of millions of dollars in incremental revenue through gaming, licensing, and consumer products.
Jon has also held senior roles at Bertelsmann, EMI, and BMG across the U.S. and Asia, and was part of Bertelsmann’s corporate investment and M&A team in New York, where he led strategic investments and acquisitions at the intersection of media, technology, and consumer platforms.
A recognized thought leader in music, gaming, television, advertising, branded entertainment, and immersive media, Jon was a founding member of the Mobile Marketing Association and has served on the boards of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE). He is a frequent speaker at leading global technology and media conferences and regularly advises founders, boards, and investors on growth strategy, partnerships, and platform evolution.
In addition to his operating roles, Jon is Managing Partner at A-Force Ventures, an early-stage consumer technology fund focused on female-founded startups. He also serves as a limited partner in multiple international investment funds across Europe and Asia and acts as an advisor to a leading TMT venture fund in India.
Jon holds degrees in Chinese and Economics from Durham University in the United Kingdom and from the People’s University in Beijing, China.
