Josh Hurst:
Owner, Guitar Build Workshop
About Josh Hurst:
I'm a product designer, engineer, entrepreneur, and educator based in Nashville, Tennessee. I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and have spent my career designing and developing products for companies including Fender, Gibson, and Stewart-MacDonald.
I'm also the founder of Guitar Build Workshop, a hands-on guitar-building school, and co-founder of Tennessee Electric Company, a custom guitar brand. Through these ventures, I've had the opportunity to design and build instruments for artists including André 3000, The Red Clay Strays, and numerous Nashville session musicians.
Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs and educators helped shape my passion for creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. I enjoy taking ideas from concept to reality and sharing what I've learned along the way. As my career evolves, I'm increasingly drawn to academia and the opportunity to mentor, collaborate with, and inspire the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
